| | Mudvayne and The Misfits | ] | Alright, so I know I haven't updated for quite a while. But what the hell, I'm bored and don't feel like going to bed at the moment. So tonight was the spring concert for WSU and Bowling for Soup played. Now...I know what you're thinking, but I would have to say they're a guilty pleasure of mine. Plus, I have to see the spring concert no matter who we get. Plus, it was only $10 and about 250 yards away from my apt so it took no real effort to go to. I guess I wasn't really doing anything else tonight too. So Ben, Nate, Dan and I ate supper in the caf before the show, that was fun. Then we went to the show, we got a pretty good spot, right in the center and about 20ft or so from the front.
So the first band, Hooch, a local bar band from LaCrosse opened. Yeah, they sucked ass. Don't get me wrong, they were talented musitions, its just that a jam band should probally not open for B4S. Needless to say, the crowd was not terrilbly enthustiastic.
So then B4S came on. I kinda guessed they would be good. They really exceeded my expectations and I would recommend seeing them. Now, we all know they are not the best musically. But they are one of the rare band that can just nail a live show. Very entertaing. We're toying with the idea of seeing them again this summer.
After the show we went and got our ususual sunday night hot dogs from Kwik Trip. Instead of hanging outside of Kwik Trip, we hung outside of the gym where the concert was held. We figured since we were just going to hang outside anyways, we might as well do it at the gym. That was a great decision. We got to talk to the big fat guitarist for like 10 minutes, he was cool. He even commented on my Local H shirt, haha. Met the other guitarist when he was outside having a smoke too. That was cool. Got my ticket stub autographed, that was cool. I just wish I would have had my camera along with me.
All in all, it wasa a very sucessful night. By far, the best campus concert I've been to. Finally UPAC did something right. I know I'll never get to see Slayer or Mudvayne for our campus concert but at least it wasn't some crappy jam band again this year.
Oh, tentative concert schudule for the summer.
End of May - Allister - Warehouse
End of June - Vanilla Ice - Cities that would be an awesome show, don't laugh
July 1 - Alice Cooper - free at the Taste of Minnesota days
July 3 - Soul Asylum - again, free at the Taste of Minnesota days
July 8 - Slayer, Lamb of God, Childern of Bodom, Mastadon I need to acutally get around to buying these. This one is NOT tentative
Sometime, I forget when - The Cars and Blondie - some casino north of the cities
Date and venue not announced yet - Candlebox
Still the 5th year in a row I will not go to an Ozzfest, Not because I don't have the time or money, just because the lineup sucks ass this year.
And as for X-fest - RIP |

| | In Flames | ] | Hey, guess I haven't updated for a while. Nothing really terrilbly noteworthy going on I guess. Classes are going fine, still haven't had a lot of work yet. That rocks! One of my classes was cancelled today, Strategic Management, so fuck yeah!
Went home for Saturday night/Sunday morning this weekend. It was my friend Fred's 21st b-day. Oddly enough we really didn't drink a whole lot. I guess him and Jeremy got drunk but I just got slightly buzzed. Hmm, guess that tolareance thing is kicking in, lol. But yeah, played some poker, played some pool with the locals, good time.
So lately I've been obsessed with The Cars, you know, Let The Good Times Roll. Yeah, I've accumulated a few old cassests at thrift shops and have been listening to them constantly. I'd definantly recommend checking that stuff out.
Oh, I bought a Faith No More shirt at Hot Topic on clearance the other day, it rocks.
I guess Motion City Soundtrack is playing across town at St. Mary's Saturday. I'm probally going to one of my friends bands in LaCrosse whose playing at the Warehouse. Hmm, decisions
But yeah, there, I've fulfilled my requests to update this by the 2 people who actually read it, haha. |

| | Caroline's Spine - Monsoon CD | ] | So it was awesome. Just a few minutes ago I bought a lot 30 old school punk band pins for like $17 including shipping. I'm going to put all 30 on my back pack in addition to the 10 or so already on there. Thats more flair that anyone really needs, but at least now people will be able to spot me across campus by the blinding reflection. My X-mas money is being well spent, haha.
Anyway, thats my update. Happy New Year 2003!!!! |

| | Alice In Chains - Best of the Box CD | ] | Happy Kwanza everyone!!! So Chirstmas was pretty cool. My Uncle Bruce came up from Ames so that was cool, haven't seen him probally since last Christmas. Only he brought up an hour and a half worth of slides of some trip he went on. Yeah......... I fell asleep half way through, haha. My Grandma and Uncle Rick came over. They only live 2 blocks away though, haha.
Got a bunch of cool stuff. My folks gave my a digital camera. So now I don't need to use other people's anymore, haha. I just need to figure out how to use the damn thing, lol. I want to figure out my New Years. I also got Season 2 of the Adventures of Pete and Pete on dvd. Thats awesome, I've already watched half of it in 2 days, haha. My sister also gave me a pair of shoes. But not just any shoes mind you. Those old-school Vans that are just those slip on shoes and are black and white checkers. That rocks, I've wanted those for some time. My sister also gave me a polo shirt that the employees at Kwik Trip wear. I really don't know why. I guess it's kinda cool though. Also got like $50 worth of gift certificates to Kwik Trip. You know what that means, $50 worth of Kwik Trip hot dogs!!! Screw gas!!!
Oh yeah, I'm slaving away at the packaging factory over break. If anyone needs any 3M command strips or hooks or any of that crap, let me know, I have connections.
Last night was kinda weird. I acutally hung out with my old girlfriend, Amy, for a while. I think it was the first time we've acutally seen each other in like a year and a half or so. It was cool to see her again, but I have to admit, it was kind of weird and unexpected.
So I've been thinking a lot. Since I do mind numbing work for 10 hours a day, I really don't have much else to do. Just thinking about you know, chicks and stuff. Sigh..... |

| | Pantera - Hallow | ] | Wow, I can't belive that it's a year today since Dimebag's passing. It seems just like yesterday to be honest. I remember excatly when I first heard the news of it. I had just gotten back from my stats class at 9:30 and I think it was Jason that sent me the link to the cnn website on my aim away message. I really hate to compare the two events, but this was 9/11 for the entire metal world including myself.
I really don't think a day goes by where I don't listen to Pantera. It really keeps me going. If I'm pissed off, I listen to Pantera. If I'm thriled, it just pumpes me up even more. Its a shame that we're not going to get anymore of his amazing riffs.
Fortantly I was lucky enough to meet him and the whole Damageplan last summer at X-fest. Probally one of the nicest rock stars that I've met. I talked to him for a few minutes and just shot the breeze. I've been watching the Pantera home videos dvd lately and it just amazes me how cool he was. I'm going to listen to the radio tonight and listen to the Dimebag tribute. Well, I really don't fell like writing anymore. Such a sad day but a wonderful person to remember.

| | i'm watching the pantera home video dvd | ] | So I got a call from my sister today. She actually got her acceptence letter Winona. Thats awesome. I'm not sure if she'll end up going here, probally she will though.
On another note, I'm signing a lease to another place for next year. Well, its actually with Jason in his current house. Yes, I am still graduating in May, but I really don't know what I want to do. I kinda just want to stay Winona for another year or two and live up the college lifestyle for a little longer but not actually be enrolled in college. I figure I can find some sort of a job in either LaCrosse, Rochester, or even Winona. I'm not worried, I'll fall into something.
Oh, I finally have the power of downloading music again. For some reason I couldn't for like few months. What can I say, I'm very inept when it comes to computers. It's awesome, I've been a downloading fiend the last few days. Here's a few of my current favorites:
American Head Charge - Walk Away Kiss - Love Gun The Wallflowers - Sleepwalker (Side note-this song is awesome!) Jane's Addiction - Jane Says Jackyl - The Lumberjack Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy also, quite a few old Queensryche songs
Shit, I have to work on my stupid group presentation. Blah, it sucks. Oh well. |

| | Relient K....i really don't know why i am though | ] | So several people have said that I should write about my adventure at detox. I'm bored at the momement, so I thought I'd appease my public. Yes, I'm sure you all know about me going to detox a while ago. But let me share the story. It should be a good tale.
So yeah, a Thursday night a few weeks ago I went to the all you can drink night at Stingers. Well, needless to day I had all I can drink. I really ought to stop thinking of all you can drink night as a challange, lol. But anyways, after being asked to leave the bar I was on my way to my apt. About halfway home, I needed to take a piss. So I pissed on a stop sign before I got to campus. I didn't want to piss on campus because I had acutally gotten written up by WSU security a week ago for that exact offense. Anyways, the Winona cops drove by and weren't too pleased. They put me and handcuffs and in the back of the cop car; an experience I have never had before. Oh, they gave me a breathizer, I blew an impressive 2.4. Yes, thats 3 times the legal limit to drive. I was proud of myself.
Well, they decided I needed to go to detox. I disagreed. However, they put up a stronger arguement. Here's the awesome part. On the way to Rochester, I had to take a piss. Yes, the nearest detox facility is Rochester. Anyway, I asked the driver politely to pull over to let me out to take a piss. I was very civil and said "please" and "may I". However ever he denied my request. Then I became very irate and started pounding on the window and just swore up a storm. I distinctly remember calling him a fucking cunt more than once. So then I was like "fuck you!" Then I just stood up and pissed in the police van. Needless to say, he was not terribly pleased. When we got up there he made me clean it up with paper towels. I intenionally did a very poor job at doing it. Yes, I have joined the elite club who have pissed in an official police vechical.
Well, detox wasn't terribly fun. It was basically like jail really. I was locked up and could only roam around the two hallways and lounges. I ended up being there for 2 nights, which equaled 37 hours. The food sucked really. I ate so many peanut butter on saltine crackers that weekend. However, I did have an acutal bed, cable TV, and a shower that doesn't plug up. Neither of which I have in my actual apartment.
I met some pretty interesting people there. I met a guy who was hitching from Montana to back home in Arkansas. I also met a guy who got sent there because he got drunk, got the cops called to his house and used the cops own stun gun on him. Also, I met a dude who took a utility knife and make like a 10in slash from his shoulder to below his armpit. I guess he beat the shit out of his roomate and did that to himself. I guess he went to the hospital right before coming to detox and got like 37 staples in his cut. But get this, he refused the anestic. Yeah. I would not what to fuck with that dude. But he was cool, I talked to him for a while and he even gave me a smoke. Oh yeah, he was drunk when I was talking to him too. But yeah, detox was filled with mostly just hardcord alcolhics. I felt really out of place. There were like 3 other dudes my age there though, so that was cool. We hung around in our own special group. 2 of them are even from Winona.
Oh, I didn't have my cell phone so I couldn't contact anyone from winona to tell them where I was. Finally I got ahold of my friend Jason's number through a long ordeal of getting my sister to look in my old cell phone phonebook and he spread the word. But yeah, no one knew where I was for like almost a day. That kinda sucked. Betsy was really pissed off at me, I think she still might be actually, lol. She now calls me "Detox".
But then I got out eventually. I acutally got a ride home from one of the Winona dudes whose friends came to pick him up. That was good, that would have sucked trying to find a ride back to Winona from Rochester. But yeah, I got back and went to the weekly poker tournament at the bar.
Yeah, detox kinda sucked, but it sure was an experience. I got some really good stories from that whole ordeal. I think I might not drink as much at all you can drink night anymore. We'll see how that goes. Shit, I still have to pay for that. I think it's like $450. Yeah, I can't pay that. I think I might be able to get it reduced though. Hopefully. I haven't really gotten a bill yet though, and that was like 3 weeks ago. Well, thats about it, ask me about it next time you see me. |

| | Many things- my last song was Local H's cover of Pink Floyd | ] | I haven't update in a while, actually like a few months, lol, oops. Due to several peoples requests and my bordom I thought I'd give in. Well, today's Thanksgiving, I'll start with that. Came up to the Twin Cites to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins Steve and Mike. It was nice, we really don't get to see them all that often. Some of their cousins were there so that was cool, even though I'm not really related to them. All of us then went in the basement and had a nerf gun war. That was awesome, I haven't done that in forever. I think sometime soon I'm acutally going to buy one. Then we all played Scene-it for almost 4 HOURS! Yeah, that was fun, but it got a little old after a while. Now I'm acutally just chilling in the hotel lobby talking on AIM and doing other stuff.
Lets see, what else have I been up to in the last 2 months or so? Oh I've been throughly enjoying my new car, Veronica. In a few days I'm going to be putting her in storage, so that kinda sucks. I can't drive her in the winter though. For one the salt would be terrible for her, and also those old cars drive terribly in the snow.
Lets see, what else? Oh yeah, if you know me, you probally know I'm not going out with Miranda anymore. Acutally, that happened a considerably long time ago. Anyways, it was mutual, but I really don't feel like getting into that. We're still good friends though. In fact, I'm acually going over to her place tomorrow to chill for a while.
So this semester is kind of a bitch. I've spent so much time in the library it is disgusting. It seems my teachers all think I'm completely inept so therefore want me to do learn all this new crap. I love putting it that way. Yeah, i have to do this insane project of doing a very indepth survey of WSU students about the New University. If I see you, I'll probally ask you to take one of my damn surveys. Sorry, lol.
Went to a few concerts recently. Went to Slipknot like a week and a half ago. Awesome, as always, 4th time I've seen them. Foo Fighters/Weezer was about a month and half ago. That was pretty damn cool. Always wanted to see them. Then I went to a few shows at the Warehouse. Saw 3 Inches of Blood, that was awesome. Then I saw Death by Stereo, a hardcore punk band. Probally one of the niceest bands I've seen. They put on a great show and were really friendly. I talked to them briefly after the show, but then hung out with them for a while at the bar afterwards. Yes, I've officially partied with rockstars, lol.
Oh yeah, I'm guessing most everyone knows that I had to do a stint in detox a few weeks ago. This is a great story and a seperate live journal entry in itself. Therefore, I will do it justice and give it its own post in a day or so. Please, check back in a day or so, you'll love it. I guarantee it.
Well, thats about it. I'm sure there's more but I can't think of anything at the moment, and besides, I'm getting tired of typing. Anyways, that was a brief synopsis of my affairs, I could elatroate more if I want, that would get old quickly, lol. I'll try to update more often, we'll see how that goes though. Well, I guess, I'll see you all later.
Get well soon!!

So far, it's been so loud I've set off 2 car alarms, thats going to be my new hobby, lol. I still need to name her, too bad I already used up Christine, I'm thinking maybe Veronica. I'd put a pic up here, but I don't have the knowledge or a digital camera. |

| the summer |
[Aug. 29th, 2005|06:19 pm] |
So yeah, I'm back in Winona now. It's kinda nice to be back up here and see everyone again. Nice to not be living at home anymore and am able to do what I want and stuff. Had the first day of classes today. Nothing terrbily exciting went on. Still don't know how the semester is going to be, too early to tell.
I'm going to buy another car, I have to replace the Cordoba after all. I actually found a '76 Monte Carlo near Owatonna. Its awesome, I can't wait to drive it around. Not the most economical car when gas is $2.50, but its damn cool. Just as soon as the title gets taken care of I'll have her. Right now the title is in the hands of the state of MN. it just so happens the week the gov't went on strike the guy got the title transferred to him from his ex-wife. so yeah, the title is lost in the beaurcracy of MN, i'm being screwed here.
Oh, and so this summer I've actually accumulated a girlfriend. Yeah, weird isn't it? I've actually known Miranda for like the last year and a half or so from working at the movie theater I used to work at. Then at my new job, I actually became friends w/ her roomate who worked there. So she kinda played matchmaker I guess. She's awesome, like she listens to metal and (real) punk and I can actally carry on intelligant conversatisons with her. Oh yeah, and she's pretty cute too. It sucks we didn't start going out until like 3 weeks ago being that i'm up here now. Oh well, we'll try it and see how it turns out, i've done the whole distance thing before and its worked w/ some moderate sucess. It kinda sucks she has no phone or internet at her apt though, yeah.
So there there you go, your all updated on the world of Jeff. |

| | my tom petty greatest hits cd | ] | So this was a pretty good weekend. Lets see. Friday was cool. I hung out with my friend Blake and we drank Old Milwaukee in his garage, looked at the truck his dad's working on and listend to some old Cars cassetes. Yep, I'm white trash. It was cool though
Saturday was awesome. Did a lot of driving, like 250 miles or so. Went to Rochester to see Heather, Kari and Allie. That was cool, haven't been up there since April.
Then I met Ben in LaCrosse. I hung out with him at his job at the 10:00 news at channel 8. It was pretty cool, I was in the studio while it was being broadcasted live. Needless to say it was the first time I've watched the news in a while. Then we went to see Jackyl at Riverfest. It was pretty cool for being a free show and we got to see a lot of drunks do stupid things, thats always awesome. I think we were 2 out of like 10 sober people there. Then we got to meet Jackyl afterwards at a meet and greet type thing. We didn't have anything to sign so we grabbed discarded beer pitchers off the ground had them sign that. After that we went to Wal-Mart where I saw my friends Wack and Carly from back home. Then we went to Kwik Trip and got hot dogs. After that we walked on 3rd Street which is the huge bar strip in LaCrosse. We did that for like an hour. Partly because we could watch more drunks being drunk and look at chicks and partly because it was bartime and we thought it'd be a good idea to stay off the road for a while.
Got home at 4:30, just in time to watch my show on the Cartoon Network, Case Closed. That show is awesome. Also, I found out Coach is on USA at 5 and 5:30. Needless to say, I slept in.
Well, thats it |

[Jun. 21st, 2005|02:20 am] |
So yeah, I hear tomorrow is officially the first day of summer. Yep, thats all the news I have really. I think my friend Aaron is going to buy my Cordoba so thats pretty cool. That means I can buy another car soon. If anyone knows of a 73-77 Monte Carlo for sale, let my know!! I'm talking to Ben on the phone now, haven't talked to him for a while so thats cool. We're planning to go to see Jackyl at the LaCrosse Riverfest festival in 2 weeks so that'll be cool. And before the concert I'll hang out with him at his job at the TV station, so that'll be cool. Hmm,I went down the the Rendesvoux this weekend. Its this thing in Prairie du Chien where all these people come and dress like Indians, and camp out in teepees, its pretty cool. They all sell stuff and theres also a big flea market. Everyone goes down there, its a huge tourist attraction and probally the biggest weekend of the year. I even saw licence plates from Texas, Georgia, Nebraska, and Virginia.
Oh yeah, I'm thinking about going to summerfest on Friday July 1. Tom Petty and the Black Crows are playing and i think theres some other bands like Sugar Ray, Crossfade, and even Survivor are playing that day. I'm toying with the idea of going so if anyone wants to come w/, get ahold of me.
Well, thats the end of my rambling entry. |

| | my soul asylum cd i bought today | ] | Hey, I thought I'd update since I'm on the computer. It doesn't happen very often anymore, but I don't mind it too much. Haven't been up to too much lately; pretty much just work. Work is going pretty good, I'm starting to get used to the hours and routine now. For the first week and a half or so the 10 hour shift just dragged on, it's not too bad now so thats cool. I'm having fun working with all the rednecks in the area, haha. It's kinda funny to talk to people that have southern accents, but are from south-western Wisconsin, haha, and I'm not exateraging either believe it or not.
Graduation has been going on this weekend. I went to my friend Bobby's party yesterday and that was cool. I also went to my friend Aaron's graduation ceremony yesterday. That was kinda weird really, I think I've been in that town once and I didn't know a single person there. He was really glad I came though, so that was cool. After that, me, him, his girlfriend Andera and her friend Shelby went to some graduation parties. It was kinda fun going to these graduation parties of people I didn't know and going to houses I will never go back too. It really reminded me of Dazed and Confused. Tonight I went to Aaron's graduation party. It was cool, I had a good time. Aaron was just fucking smashed and making an complete fool of himself. It was really funny, haha, I wish I owned a camcorder.
I moved out of my apartment yesterday. So now I'm completely moved out. I'm going to miss that apt, the location was great and so were my roomates. 100 feet from the gas station, a hardee's down the street and the bar strip a block and a half away. My next apt should be good too though, so I'm excited for that.
I went to the flea market today, got a few things. Bought the Not Another Teen Movie DVD for $5. Got a couple CD's that I've wanted for a while. Pantera-Reinventing The Steel and Soul Asylum-Grave Dancer's Union. Both $6 each so that was cool. Also bought a model of a 70's Dodge van for $6. It's awesome, I'm going to put it on my shelf.
I just found out the tickets for Ozzfest this year are $70!! WTF?!?! Thats outragous!! I guess I'm still going to go though. I've never been to an Ozzfest before and this is the first lineup in a few years that hasn't sucked. I just hope the rest of the people I'm going to go w/ aren't scared off.
Well, thats about it. Still only get to the computer an occasion. As always though, I have my phone. Good Night. |

Work the usual Mon-Thurs 2-midnight at the factory and worked again saturday from 2-10 for overtime. Time and half, hell motherfucking yeah, $11.25 or so an hr. Lets see, went bowling w/ some friends friday after work, that was pretty cool. Fri and Sat night I hung out w/ my friend Blake at the gas station, for like an hour each night cause we were board, its like we're 15 again. It was pretty cool though. One of hour friends work there though, so we kinda had a reason being there. If only they had nachos there, we could be like Beavis and Butthead, huh huh. Today I went Golfing with my friends Donny, Jeremy and Fred. It was awesome, I haven't done that for like 2 years and never with them. We rented golf carts too. That was awesome!! I've never driven one before. Thats about it really, not too terribley exciting. Oh, I got my grades back the other day.

| | Alice Cooper - School's Out | ] | Finally the school year is over! I thought it would never end. Haha, I've been listing to School's Out by Alice Cooper over and over. Well, not really it seems like it just started, I actually have a big box of books in my room that I never unpacked, lol. Finals sucked, as always so I must this:
Fuck you Operations Management! Lick my Balls Intermediate Business Statitics! Screw you Management Information Systems! Chew on this Business Law II!
Yep, so school is done so that is awesome. I'm definatly going out to night. Tonight is Janelle's and Josh's Birthdays, so we'll all do stuff for that. I was looking on IMDB.com and in addition to them it's Topenga's Birtday as well as as Alice from the Brady Bunch's, NBC Newsman Brian Williams, and the kid who played Simon Birch's Birthdays. Also, on this day in 2000 Billy Bob Thorton and Angleina Jolie got married. I'll have to celebrate all that tonight too.
I'll be home pretty much all of the summer. I'll actually be in Winona I think every weekend in May to move out of my old place and into my new place, that always sucks. This summer I'll be working at Prairie Industries, which is a 3M packaging plant. You know those 3M command strips you hang stuff on the wall with, I package those. I did that last summer too. Not the most fun job, but it pays pretty good, I'm freinds with a lot of people there and the hours are good. I work 4 10 hour shifts a week, Mon-Thurs 2-midnight, that way I get 40hrs a week and still have a 3 day weekend every weekend, its pretty cool.
This is my tenetive schedule of events for the summer.
May 14 I think: going to the twin cities for Logan's 21st B-day party
May 17: Buying the Adventures of Pete and Pete and Clarissa Explains it All Dvd's when they come out.
July 1: Summerfest in Milwaukee to see Tom Petty and the Black Crows, anyone want to come w/?
Sometime in August: Going to Sun Prairie for Blake's sister's wedding.
August 7: Ozzfest!!! in Float-Rite. Finally I'll be going to an Ozzfest!
Thats about all I have planned for the Summer. I probally won't be updating much this summer unfortuantly. The computer at the house has interetn but the computer never really works, go figure. Maybe I can update on my Dad's computer at his office though, that'll be not terribly often I'm afraid. And since that is a business computer I won't be able to put AIM on it. I also can't figure out how to get my school laptop on the internet back home, so that sucks. So yeah, I won't really be as easily accessible, but I still have my phone and my email, jeffbickel8hotmail.com Anyway, I'll update if I have the chance. Have a good summer. |

Your feeling are likely to seem somewhat repressed at times.

| | In Flames - Cloud Connected | ] | Okay, awesome story. Last night was awesome, went to Bullseye for the $3 all you can drink. Needless to say I indulged in my vices. Anyway, after coming home from the bar instead of going into my apartment, I actually hung out in my neighbors car. Yes, her car, it was unlocked. I don't really know why I did this, maybe because I've never been in a Subarau before, thats probally it. But anyway, I was in there for a while. Well I remembered doing that this morning, and I wondered if she'd ever find out. Needless to say I wasn't going to tell her, it'd be kinda hard to explain. But I also discovered I had lost my cell phone. After calling it several times, looking through my apt, and going back to the bar I had not found it. Well, after calling it, who should ansewer but Jenny, my next door neighbor. Yes, I had lost my phone in her car and she found it. I really did feel like kind of an ass when telling her I passed out in her car. But she thought it was pretty funny so thats good. So tomorrow she'll give me my phone back, she's home in Lacrosse now. But it really does make an awesome story, this one will definanlty be told many more times. |
